Ride responsibly — Let’s keep our kids safe

E-bikes, scooters, and mini-motos are everywhere these days — and while they’re a lot of fun, they also come with responsibility. Stanwood Police say reports of incidents involving e-bikes and scooters are increasing. So we're teaming up with a simple reminder: let’s help our kids ride smart and safe.

Here are a few important things to keep in mind:

  • Helmets are a must for anyone under 18.

  • One rider at a time — no passengers.

  • Keep it under 15 mph.

  • Lights or reflectors are needed if riding after dark.

  • Always yield to people walking on the sidewalk.

  • Parents, tickets go to you if rules aren’t followed.

On school grounds, thank you for walking your wheels and always wearing your helmets.

Let’s work together to keep our kids safe, our sidewalks friendly, and our community rolling in the right direction.
